Medico-Legal Reports

The expert physiotherapists at Manchester Physio provide medico-legal physiotherapy reports. We have experts in every field and, therefore, can provide medico-legal physiotherapy reports of all types. Types of reports prepared include neurology, head injury, spinal cord injury, musculoskeletal, paediatric, cerebral palsy, young disabled, orthopaedic, mental health, learning difficulties and aquatic exercise.

All Medico-Legal reports comply with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) Part 35 and Practice Direction 35. Our Medico-Legal Expert Witness physiotherapists are all active members of the Medico-Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP) and, as they are treating therapists and Expert Witnesses, are up to date with current treatment techniques, equipment and research. The CVs of experts are available on request.

The medico-legal reports provided by Manchester Physio advise regarding:
  • previous, present and future functional ability
  • present and future therapy needs
  • potential for improvement
  • appropriate rehabilitation
  • cost of appropriate rehabilitation
  • required equipment
  • capital and annual costs of specialist equipment
  • accommodation requirements

How much does a report cost?

Medico-legal report writing is charged on a per hour basis. Following the initial enquiry a written quotation for the initial assessment and report can be provided. Report costs vary depending on the location of the client and the amount of time required for the assessment and report.

Following the assessment and report joint expert meetings, attendance in court and further reports are all billed at an hourly rate.
