Complex DSE Assessments
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessments - Complex
Manchester Physio have specialist trained physiotherapists that assess individuals in relation to their display screen equipment.
Complex DSE assessments are performed on individuals who have (or have had) symptoms that they associate with their use of display screen equipment, have a condition, injury or are returning to work after an absence that could increase the risk of them using display screen equipment or require adaptations to the equipment. Complex DSE assessments include:
Undertaken in a private room this part of the assessment is to gather information on past medical history, medication, aggravating factors, work role etc.
Undertaken at the workstation this part of the assessment is to see the individual at their workstation (or a hot desk). The individual will be talked through potential problems, how to overcome these problems, setup of equipment, posture and any additional equipment required.
Provided within 48 hours this report includes a brief history of the problem, a detailed summary of the issues raised during the assessment and the actions required to eliminate problems and risk factors. Wherever products (such as chairs, monitor raises, foot rests) are recommended suppliers will also be detailed.
Complex DSE assessments are often provided for individuals with:
- Neck pain
- Shoulder pain
- Back complaints
- Pregnancy related disorders
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Wrist pain
- Finger pain
- Thoracic outlet syndrome
- Repetitive strain injuries
